Deborah Taylor Carter, a native of Brooklyn, New York is the wife of Pastor Maurice Carter and the Leading Lady of the Crystal Cathedral Ministry in Dillwyn, Virginia, respectfully. Deborah and  Maurice met in 1981 while attending college.

Mother Carter graduated from Virginia's Saint Paul's College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary  Education.  Subsequently, she worked for seventeen years as an elementary teacher in Columbus, Ohio, Richmond, Virginia, Henrico, and Fluvanna, Virginia. She continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of  Virginia, and Longwood University.

Currently, Lady Carter lends her support and talents to many areas. She leads the Women of Royal Destiny (WORD), a ministry birthed out of the heart to encourage women to develop an intimate relationship with Christ thereby advancing the Kingdom of God through service. She also founded the Ministry of Helps which was developed in an effort to assist families of those who are sick and shut in with medical and other supplies that are necessary in times of prolonged illness or injury. She is the owner of The Kingdom Is At Hand Card and Book Company.

While the obligation to ministerial commitments is a priority, Mother Carter ensures that her other covenant relationships are well maintained. She faithfully serves as her husband's helpmate and as an involved mother to their two adult children, Joshua and Victoria.
